When I hurt my wrist this week, I had to take time off from spinning, knitting and even typing. For the first few days I was stir-crazy, constantly bothered by not being able to do, work, stay busy. Not a happy camper! Looking back now, the forced break was actually a good thing – I needed the break, the time off. I needed to focus on the little day to day joys that I had been missing in my rush to get things done. I wouldn’t recommend an injury as the best method to ensure you get the down time you need – however, if you are one of the always busy and having a difficult time trying to squeeze in You Time between the errands, work and endless mandatory demands placed on you, start right now by taking a few minutes to read this inspiring article from Lessons from the Scrapbook, on making sure you get the time you need – no matter what your schedule looks like. It really helped put my time off from spinning and knitting in perspective – and I had a blast dyeing fiber, something I love too, instead of being grumpy because I couldn’t finish the yarn on my bobbins. Check it out!
(No, I’m not getting paid for this! I really liked this article, but was unable to finish and post this entry until this morning.)
