Things with the blog template are coming along - should be slow and steady with the remaining bits, now that the major items are finished. Just some minor alignment and font style issues to work out.
Most of this weekend has been dedicated to figuring out a diagonal lace sock ribbing pattern idea that just won’t leave me alone. I’ve managed to get far enough along to begin to charting it out, with the exception of the transition from the lace round to knit round and visa versa. As things stand, I think I’m going to forgo having yarn overs at the end of a row and move them to the start of the next lace round; YO’s at the end throw off the pattern, whereas the ones at the start don’t. Which makes sense after playing with (aka: knitting and then frogging) the pattern for three days straight. The tricky part of this stitch pattern is how to write it for knitting in the round - yarn overs at the end of a needle aren’t exactly a walk in the park, especially when followed by slipped stitch.
(My mantra this weekend has been: *yo, sl 1, k1, psso*, with plenty of forgetting the psso and having to go back. Ah, don’t laugh at my lace noobishness! Now if I could just figure out how to work those cables into the rest of the sock pattern! )
Happy Father’s Day to all of you Dads, and to all the single parents who do the jobs of both Mom and Dad. May this next year bring out the best of you as a parent!
