Dreams Do Come True!

Dreams do come true. Sometimes not all at once, often bit by tiny bit as you work to make them reality. Note, having that dream doesn’t take away the stark naked fear of failure, of the nightmares of falling so hard you can’t get back up. That fear never goes away. But the determination to never not try to get back up, to catch yourself before you hit the ground, is what makes the difference between whether you spend life dreaming, or spend life living your dream.

Oriri Draco Design is officially entering the brick and mortar world, by way of a local artisan co-op shop. I’m thrilled and terrified… and trying to keep everything straight in my head! So much to keep track of. Display creation, label designing and printing, setting up colorways for dye production, setting up wholesale accounts (finally!), writing out the beginning of an actual business plan, getting Ravelry set up, helping my sister get set up and settled to write here… along with FINALLY finishing all my kids’ socks! I still haven’t taken pictures of the socks - but the next time I pry them off my munchkins feet and get all three pairs washed, a photo-op is in order. They turned out so well!

I’m also really excited about a custom order a dear friend of mine requested - just shy of a pound of russet red and burnt orange worsted weight bamboo yarn for a lace project she’s doing. I’m SO excited! This is my first real custom order, and so far I’m actually liking being able to have someone come and ask if I can do this and this in this color for this project and talk to them about what they want and what I can do. It’s FUN! And on top of it is the excitement of watching my yarns come to life in something made my someone else’s hands - in this case, a good friend’s hands! I really can’t wait to get started, and then to see how her project turns out!

Oh, if any of you guys are on Ravelrysay hi sometime! and if you aren’t on Ravelry, hurry and sign up!
