It’s only because I have a deadline to meet this week! I’ve got to dye 7 or more hanks of sock yarn in under three days, two if I can. Which might not seem that bad, except that it takes me 24 hours to just get each one dyed! (The results are so worth it though.)
The catch is, first 24 hours really is just the dyeing - it doesn’t cover the final rinsing, drying, reskeining and tagging. I can get the drying, reskeining and tagging down to a few hours each if I push it, but any faster than that and quality drops - and homie don’t play that way!
So if I can dye all seven today and get them all on the second phase of dyeing by tonight… *thinks*…. I can start the rinsing, drying, reskeining and tagging tomorrow morning and hopefully finish in time to get them off by Wednesday morning. I’d rather get them off Tuesday, but I don’t think they’d all be fully dry if I do that! (Which would be bad, you know.
)
As hectic as the next few days will be, it will all be worth it when I get this done, very much worth it. And it will have proved to myself just how much I can get done if I really apply myself to boot. Which is a good thing, because I’ve now got 10 more pounds of blank sock yarn on the way that I’m going to have to tackle early February! (And that doesn’t even begin to cover the Ravelry ad that I placed for February! EEK!)
Yoike! I better get back to work! I’ll try to take pictures, if I can!
