I spent a good chunk of today patting, stroking, caressing, yes, even fondling, a large set of yarn samples that I originally brought with me as food for thought about new yarns to introduce. Except I am now using the sample set as a security blanket, no, a lifeline, to my undyed babies. My babies that are in vacuum sealed plastic bags, taped up in cardboard boxes and then locked away in some dark storage unit somewhere. My dye powders are with me, because they can’t be packed, but my dyes to me little good without my yarn blanks. (And I’m not dyeing the samples.) I can make it another two weeks… I have to. There is a light at the end of this dark tunnel; the glowing white light of undyed yarn waiting to be given color and life and a name, my little slice of heaven at the end of this long, dark tunnel of dyeing abstinence that no amount of coding or sample fondling can quite illuminate. …I have way too much free time on my hands.
I have to admit though, I am really digging this new look and am excited at the prospect of having the shop match. Even if I am irritated that a semi-stable release of the new version of my shop application is taking FOREVER to be pushed out. It has GIFT CODES and the ability to do fun things like Buy One, Get One type sales and this is almost as exciting as new yarns to me. (I don’t pretend to get why. But I do know that it can get worse… much worse. I almost pity the Yarn Husband, except he’s as much of a Geek With A Capital G as I am… just in a different area of The Geekdom.)
Oh, before heading back out to wander aimlessly in the dark of Dyeing Withdrawal, I want to say a big, huge THANK YOU to you guys for all of the wonderful comments about the new look. ( <3 <3 ) After staring at the same design for a week and a half straight, I started wondering if it actually looked as nice as I used to think it did, and you guys definitely relieved that worry! (It’s like when you say or read the same word over and over and over and it stops having any real meaning, just with pictures ‘n’ stuff.) So… THANK YOU!
Ok, peace out, and I hope you all enjoy your weekends!
